Our Silicone Products FAQ's

Carrot (and many other orange foods) when pureed create an oil residue that can take two or more washes to get out. As suggested in our Care Instructions scrub with dish soap and leave to soak in warm soapy water. For those super tough stains that won't lift we also suggest you try a little bit of bicarbonate soda or lemon juice to remove it also.

Our suction bowls adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces such as plastic, tile, glass, fibreglass or metal. High chairs or wooden surfaces that are textured, porous or have slight curves will make it difficult to achieve lasting suction power. As the Tripp Trapp has a slightly textured surface unfortunately this will affect the suction power of our bowls and plates and will therefore result in you having to possibly re-suction during mealtimes.

Your silicone product is safe to clean in warm/hot soapy water or top shelf of the dishwasher. Try to wash the product immediately after use and refrain from using any strong solvents or harsh chemicals when cleaning. Our silicone products can be sterilised  with boiling water or in a microwave steriliser, we would not however recommend UV or chemical (such as Milton) sterilisation of any silicone product.

This can happen when the silicone takes on the residue from a meal or a dish soap that contains essential oils, antibacterial agents or moisturisers. These oils can sometimes stick to the silicone material and cause an unpleasant soapy smell of taste. Silicone itself cannot absorb flavours or give out a chemical taste. To remove the oil you can try a bi-carb or white vinegar soak overnight, even wiping your bowl out with some lemon juice. You can also boil your silicone bowl to clean it.
